Terms & Conditions

Development Coaching is:

  1. According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), coaching is defined as a partnership with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching is a client-driven process that’s distinct from other service professions, such as counseling, mentoring, consulting and training.

  2. Development coaching is an ongoing, interactive, professional service designed to help the Client achieve desired results in their career and/or life through interactive sessions and feedback.

  3. The purpose of each session is to develop and implement strategies to help the Client address and reach a wide variety of personally identified goals and outcomes.

  4. The Client sets goals for personal or professional growth which will be developed and accomplished through their persistence in pursuing challenges, navigating difficult changes, and using accountability to work toward meaningful goals. 

  5. While coaching does not offer any guarantee of success, it does guarantee to offer skills and tools to help elevate the Client's communication, presence, and message, along with accountability, encouragement, and assisting the Client in reflecting on their own words and actions.

  6. The Client agrees to let the Coach know if their needs or standards are going unmet so both parties can revisit and discuss what the Client’s needs are, and determine the best course of action.

Development Coaching is not:

  1. Development coaching is a professional service promoting a medium for change, not a close personal relationship.

  2. Development coaching sessions are not advice, therapy, or counseling, nor are they a substitute for psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care, substance abuse treatment or any other licensed practice, nor does it treat mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association.

  3. The Client hereby agrees that if they are currently under the care of a mental health professional, that the Client has consulted with this person regarding the advisability of working with Make Your Statement, LLC and that this person is aware of the Client’s decision to proceed with development coaching.

  4. The Client agrees not to use coaching in place of any form of therapy and recognizes the Coach is not a licensed therapist and that development ​coaching will not provide healing or recovery from past traumatic events.

Responsibilities of Make Your Statement, LLC

  1. Hold all information disclosed in the coaching sessions in confidence. 

  2. Adhere to the ethical standards stipulated by the International Coaching Federation. 

  3. Coach the Client through a series of regular meetings or conversations, referred herein as a “session”, which will include various exercises, strategies, questions, and feedback based upon the terms set out herein upon the Coach's standard Terms and Conditions. 

Mutual Understanding

  1. The Client understands Kendra Kingsbury of Make Your Statement, LLC is working toward Certification through MentorCoach, LLC and to the International Coaching Federation, and agrees that all hours of coaching done with Kendra Kingsbury will be put toward that certification.

  2. The Client agrees and understands one or both of the certifying bodies listed above may contact the Client at any time during or after working with Kendra Kingsbury to verify the number of hours coached, and agrees to confirm and disclose the number of hours coached if contacted.

  3. Contents of sessions will not be shared with either entity listed above, only coached hours and contact information for verification purposes. 


  1. The Client agrees to commit to the time they reserve for development coaching sessions. 

  2. Sessions vary in length between 25 minutes to 55 minutes.


  1. As per the ethical standards of the International Coach Federation, Make Your Statement, LLC agrees to keep all content of the Client’s sessions confidential.

  2. Make Your Statement, LLC will take reasonable steps to reduce the opportunity for electronic transmissions to be intercepted, but it is impossible to guarantee the confidentiality of information transmitted electronically. 

  3. The Client understands the risks of transmitting information electronically can bring and will not hold Make Your Statement, LLC responsible for any electronic confidentiality breach of information. 

  4. The Client agrees that consenting to record the sessions is for the Client’s professional use and development only and agrees not to share the recordings with anyone else, upload it to social media, and/or any other channels.

  5. Legal Obligations: Make Your Statement, LLC will only release information about the coaching content to others if the Client asks for its release with written permission or Make Your Statement, LLC is required to do so by law or court order. 

  6. Make Your Statement, LLC is legally obligated to breach the Client’s confidentiality in order to protect others from harm including but not limited to: Information indicating a child, elderly or disabled person is being abused; If the Client is an imminent risk to themselves or makes threats of imminent violence against another person.

Mutual Non-Disclosure

  1. Make Your Statement, LLC and the Client mutually recognize that they may discuss future plans, business affairs, customer lists, financial information, job information, goals, personal information, and other private information. 

  2. Make Your Statement, LLC will not voluntarily communicate the Client’s information to a third party. 

  3. In order to honor and protect the Coach’s intellectual property, the Client likewise agrees not to disclose or communicate information about the Coach’s practice, materials or methods to third parties. 

Dispute Resolution

Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this agreement, or the breach of this agreement, shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association. Unless mutually agreed otherwise, arbitration shall occur in South Haven, Michigan, or via telephone. The costs of the arbitration shall be borne by the losing party. Judgment on any award entered by the arbitrator may be recorded in any court having jurisdiction thereof. 


Choice of Laws

This agreement shall be interpreted according to the laws of the State of Michigan. The parties expressly consent to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Michigan. 



If any provision of this agreement, or the application thereof, shall be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this agreement, or the application thereof, shall not be affected thereby, and each provision of this agreement shall be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law. 



This agreement represents the entire agreement between the parties. No amendments or changes to this agreement shall be binding unless such changes or amendments are made in writing and signed by both parties.                                     

By signing up to coach with Make Your Statement, LLC indicates the Client has read the Terms and Conditions agreement and is in full understanding of and agreement with the information outlined therein and therefore agrees to abide by its terms during development coaching. By checking the box during check out indicates the Client has read and agree to this document, and they understand and agree it will be taken as a signature that they freely and voluntarily checked the box without inducement.
